Official Rules · Outrun the Dark 🌙
November 2 to December 27, 2026
8 weeks to stay motivated, keep running and take care of your mood during the darkest months of the year!
And on top of that, there are prizes to win! 🎁
Thanks to our partners, you have a chance to win great gifts just by keeping up your running routine.
It's simple: do at least 2 runs from your plan in a week (Monday to Sunday) to earn one entry into the prize draw!
No mileage competition. No pressure on speed. No need to run every day.
1. How does the challenge work?
A few days before the challenge starts, when you open the Track28 app, you'll be invited to join Outrun the Dark!
When you sign up, you'll be able to choose between two options:
- Keep your current plan and take part in the challenge with the workouts you already have scheduled.
- Try our brand-new Maintenance plan, available from November 2, designed to help you keep your running routine during the "off-season".
So how many times do you need to run per week?
You decide! You can choose to run 2, 3, 4 or even 5 times a week, based on your goals, your level and your schedule.
The rule is the same for everyone: as soon as you complete at least 2 runs from your plan in a week (Monday to Sunday), you earn 1 entry into the draw for the prizes offered by our partners! 🎁
You can earn up to 8 entries over the 8 weeks of the challenge, with a maximum of one entry per week.
A few important details:
- The challenge is completely free and takes place in the Track28 app. No purchase is required.
- The challenge is open to women everywhere in the world. The prize draw is open only to residents of Canada aged 18 or older.
- You can sign up until December 6, 2026 inclusive. The challenge starts on November 2 for everyone, even if you sign up earlier.
- You can leave the challenge at any time in the app. Your entries are then removed from the draw. You can join again until December 6, 2026, but you start from zero: only runs completed from your new sign-up count.
- Only runs done from the day you sign up for the challenge (and no earlier than November 2) are eligible. Earlier runs can't be added retroactively.
The idea is to give you a little extra motivation to stay active during the darker months, without having to change your goals or the way you train!
2. How do the chances of winning work? 🎁
Every week you complete at least 2 runs of your plan, you earn one entry into the draw!
The challenge lasts 8 weeks, so you can collect up to 8 entries in total.
Here's how it works:
- 1 run of your plan in the week = 0 entries
- 2 runs in the week = 1 entry
- 3 or more runs in the week = 1 entry
Each week is counted separately, Monday to Sunday. Runs can't be carried over from one week to another to earn an entry. A participant who joins the challenge mid-week can earn an entry as soon as she completes two eligible runs before the end of that same week.
No need to run more to increase your chances! Once you've completed your 2 runs in the week, your entry is earned.
At the end of the challenge, all eligible entries will be pooled for the draw of the prizes offered by our partners.
The more entries you collect, the better your chances of winning!
Winners will be selected at random from all eligible entries.
3. What if I miss a run?
No problem! It happens, and that's exactly why your Track28 plan is flexible.
- The entries you've already earned are yours to keep.
- You don't need to make up missed workouts.
- You can pick your plan back up whenever you're available.
- You stay in the challenge even if you miss a whole week.
Every new week is a new chance to earn an entry into the draw!
What matters is to keep moving forward at your own pace and to make room for running in your daily life.
The challenge encourages consistency, not perfection.
4. Which runs are eligible?
To count toward the challenge, a run must:
- Be done between November 2 and December 27, 2026, from the day you signed up for the challenge.
- Be a session from your Track28 plan, recorded as completed in the app.
There is no minimum distance and no required speed to take part in the challenge.
You can move your workouts in your Track28 calendar to fit your schedule.
Only runs actually done during the week in question count toward earning an entry.
Entries will be calculated on December 28, 2026: a run must be recorded as completed before that date to count. Remember to record your runs as you go!
5. Do I have to join the Instagram group?
No! The Instagram group is completely optional.
It's there so participants can cheer each other on, share their small wins and stay motivated together.
You don't need to post your runs or take part in the discussions to earn your entries into the draw.
6. Key dates
- November 2, 2026: Challenge starts.
- December 6, 2026: Last day to sign up.
- December 27, 2026: Challenge ends and last day to earn an entry into the draw.
- December 28, 2026: Entries are calculated.
- Early January 2027: Prize draw, in Montréal.
Winners will be contacted after the challenge ends, once eligible entries have been verified and the draw has taken place.
7. What if I get sick or need a break?
Take the time to recover!
You can pick the challenge back up when you're ready.
We really don't want you to feel you have to run sick or injured to earn an extra entry.
Your health comes before the challenge, always!
8. We trust you!
If you manually mark a run as completed (without syncing a watch), we trust you.
Claiming a run you didn't actually do to earn an entry into the draw is cheating! And honestly, that's not what Trackees are about. 🥲
Track28 reserves the right to verify the eligibility of runs and to exclude any entry obtained fraudulently.
The challenge is built on trust and community spirit. You don't need to be perfect or complete all your runs to take part.
9. How does the prize draw work? 🎁
Each entry earned is one chance to win. A participant who collected 8 entries will therefore have 8 chances of being selected, compared to 4 for a participant who collected 4 entries. The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries.
The prizes: the list of prizes offered by our partners isn't known yet. It will be published on this page, with the number of prizes and the approximate value of each, as soon as it's confirmed. Each person can win only one prize.
The draw will take place in early January 2027, in Montréal. Winners will be contacted by Track28 by email or on Instagram. To receive her prize, a winner must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question.
Who can take part: the challenge is open to women only. To win, you must be 18 or older and live in Canada. If you live outside Canada, you can take part in the challenge and complete your weeks, but you won't be entered in the draw.
The challenge is organized by Solutions Track28 inc. (contact@track28app.com). It is not sponsored or administered by Instagram or Apple.
The goal isn't to add pressure, it's to keep doing something that's good for you, at your own pace, with a community of women runners cheering you on.
And who knows? Your consistency might also win you a great gift! 🎁
8 weeks to keep the rhythm, take care of your mood and give yourself a chance to win great prizes, together! 🌙
